A port operator at Sines
Transport documentation with extended cover
Document handling and carrier support moved to a team covering six in the morning to ten at night, without internal night shifts.

Case facts
- Delivery model
- Onshore Portugal
- Variant
- multilingue
- Team
- 11 people, Portugal
- Time to launch
- 6 weeks
The problem
Documentation errors surfaced late, when cargo was already held, and out-of-hours cover depended on individual availability rather than a rota. Each late correction cost more than the administrative work that would have prevented it.
What we built
An onshore team with double-keying on critical fields and sampled scoring against an agreed error rate. The extended window is covered in normal shifts, with network support outside Portuguese hours.
Compliance
Onshore in Portugal. We are not customs brokers and declaratory responsibility stays with the operator.

The value is not in the price per document. It is in the documents that stopped holding cargo.
