About the role
The overwhelming majority of Portuguese in public corpora is Brazilian. This work is what corrects that imbalance, and it needs native speakers of the variant rather than Portuguese speakers in general.
What you will do
- Annotate against written guidelines, flagging cases the guidelines do not cover.
- Maintain consistency between annotators and take part in calibration sessions.
- Distinguish the European from the Brazilian variant explicitly and systematically.
What is required
- Native European Portuguese with command of the written standard.
- Attention to detail sustained across repetitive tasks.
What is valued
- Training in languages, linguistics or editing.
What we offer
- A Portuguese employment contract, with the fourteen annual payments, a meal allowance on a card and health insurance from the sixth month.
- Paid training in the first month and a written progression plan, reviewed every six months with your direct manager.
- Twenty-five days of holiday, above the legal minimum, and schedule flexibility within the team's coverage window.
